Not a good record to achieve.

Craig Council took a step toward a history he'd rather not achieve. After the Elias Sports Bureau found that Bill Bergen's hitless streak was actually 0 for 45, not 0 for 46 as was previously believed, Craig has official tied the mark(also tied by commentator Dave Campbell) for the full story....http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/19/sports/baseball/upon-further-review-counsell-actually-tied-century-old-record.html?_r=1&ref=sports

Diving Tips

By Ronaldo Aristokawa Xavier

You might become completely overwhelmed by first realizing the skill required, and the information involved in the scuba training course. The speed at which you learn will be set by your own determining. You can take online courses and study them as long as you want. Your diving, both open water and confined, will be supervised training with an instructor. Each student will be given a professional evaluation after being observed by the instructor. Your scuba training instructor will not sign-off on you if there is any doubt about your ability. People have been diving for a long time, so you can be comfortable that the knowledge you are learning comes from solid science.

Open water diving, especially in the ocean, requires a certain level of competency, something that most beginners must have before diving. Competency in the pool may not be the same as operating in the open ocean, something that your instructor will be closely watching. During your scuba training you are required to dive in a river, lake, quarry and of course the deep blue ocean.

All trainees need to feel confident that their instructor will be with them every step of the way. People that receive an open water certification card will have passed every aspect of the diving training. This card is your ticket to renting equipment to do your diving anyplace in the world. Dry suit diving is one of the advanced courses that are available for when you have completed the open water certification. Depending on your diving needs, or rather interests, this specialty course might be of interest to you. A dry suit must have some use, but what is it, and who would want to wear one? Colder water that you are diving into, will be sealed out when you are wearing a dry suit. You do not need to suffer while diving in really cold water, if you are being protected with a dry suit. Diving opportunities come about in many places, and some times it is where the water is much colder. Commercial divers have to be prepared for going where the job is, even if it is in colder water.

Once you have gone through your five successful dives, and practiced your underwater skills, your trainers will move you to the ocean. This segment of your training will require you to show a minimal amount of understanding in regard to open water skills that are part of the curriculum. You will be required to swim 200 yards, without any gear, to start this segment of your training. You will then be asked to put on your snorkel, mask, and the fins that you brought with you and go about 300 yards or meters for the next segment of the training. Finally, you will have to tread water for at least 10 minutes. The only test that is not timed, however, is the distance swim.

Competence in neutral buoyancy is one of the most useful for divers. We recommend that all divers learn this and PADI provides a class called the Peak Performance Buoyancy Course. At the time you are under water you will not sink or float when you are neutrally weightless. For this reason skilled divers look so elegant underneath the water, and they will go swimming without the use of their arms. You are the most resourceful when you are neutrally buoyant since the least air/gas you use will enable you to have dives that last longer. Everything about learning how to do this is positive and good. Don't delay in making it a realism if you have been thinking about scuba training. Keep in mind that for diving you need to make sure you are in good physical condition. Look for a nearby school where you can get your certification once you have been given the okay by your physician. Examine the trainings carefully so you will be given the greatest education possible.

If you'd like to experience some unbelievable diving, then you have got to take a trip to Aruba. This might be the most famous spot on the planet for diving. Seek advice from your own tour operator to learn more.

Is fall the best sports season?

By Johnathan Walker

As the College football season draws nears, High School football is under way in parts of the country, the NFL is in it's preseason, the NHL and college hockey won't be too far behind. One knows the football fan would say this is the best time of year(aside from bowl week for college fans). As for the average sports fan I always wondered if they enjoyed fall as much as I do for sports. For the soccer fan, the European leagues are getting under way. The baseball fan gets to enjoy the playoffs. The only thing missing this year is the start of the NBA season, but college basketball could enjoy a larger following as a result.
I would like some feedback on opinions about the best season for sports. And as always visit JohnnySports for your sports news, blogs, and commenting.

The NHL and Head Shots

By Johnathan Walker

Anyone who has watched the NHL over the past few years has noticed two things. Players don't seem to have any respect for each other and are hitting other players in very dangerous ways. The second thing the NHL fan would notice is the leagues attempt to combat this problem. The problem is the officials get it wrong time and time again. Has the game moved past the current set of NHL officials? Does the league need new blood from the lower leagues, people that have developed as officials along with the new talent coming into the league? As a fan of hockey it get's frustrating to see a player get only 2min for an obvious attempt to hurt a player, or a completely out of control hit. And then see a player attempting to make a hit on a player that is in the process of going down  and see that hitter get the book thrown at him.
I won't name any specific incidents I'm certain you already have one or two in mind. I know it must be difficult to call games real time, and I know the officials are under pressure from Toronto. Yet, I still see certain players that don't have to play by the same rules as the rest of the field. The NHL needs to bring in younger officials that have developed in juniors, college, and the minor leagues. These guys have watched talented players and hack goons. They would be able to point out the poor play and keep up with the speed of the NHL. They also wouldn't have any chummy relationships with coaches or current NHL players. They would also try to prove themselves as officials, not try to be the center of attention like the current men in the zebra stripes.
Thank you for your time, feel free to leave your opinion on the NHL and their situation with cheap shots in the comments section. And as always visit JohnnySports for news, blogs, and commenting.

Yoga

By Bev Lanford

There are many different types of yoga and restorative yoga is growing in popularity as more people learn about the benefits of this healing style of yoga. Restorative yoga is often explained as as the art of active relaxation. It is a therapeutic yoga style which employs props and supports to make it easier for your body to get into certain poses, and consequently, you are able to surrender to the pose.

Practicing poses using props allows a completely supportive environment for total relaxation. The more your body is held in the poses the deeper you can achieve total relaxation.

Relaxation is most frequently described as a state in which there's no movement, no effort, and the mind is calm. Usually, restorative poses are held for ten minutes or for so long as you are comfy in that pose.

Restorative Yoga versus Ordinary Yoga.

Restorative yoga is the term used to describe a strategy of doing yoga poses which allows your body to be totally supported as you practice.

It differs from 'normal ' yoga for the reason that when we do restorative yoga we be conscious of 'letting go ', to giving the supports we have got in place around our body our entire weight to ensure our muscle groups can fully relax. In 'normal ' yoga we're 'holding ' postures in poses by contracting our muscles to hold our body in certain shapes.

In 'normal yoga ' may utilise a support to assist us expand a bigger stretch or to provide for more comfort (like employing a strap to help us lift a leg up) but we are not concentrating on giving our entire body weight over into the support so we can liberate as much muscle stress as practical.

Many respected restorative yoga professionals call restorative yoga 'active relaxation ' relating the activity in our minds as we give our awareness to attaining that total relaxation in these numerous postures and poses.
